Have you wonder what makes Pattaya city so popular among tourists. You might not have an idea if you never been there, but for some people who have visited this city for quite few times may be able to give very correct answer. What different between hotel and resort accommodation?

In fact in terms of the meaning and usage they are not much different, that is, they refers to the accommodation for tourist for travelers but resort may have additional characteristics of having beautiful garden or open-air public are available for guests to be able to enjoy with natural environment.

But for normal hotel accommodation, this could means the building of the hotel in the city area were has no garden or green space available for its guest or provide just a little one. Also resort accommodation could refers to the accommodation that located in mountain or woods where tourists or travelers can fully enjoy the environment. According to this reason travelers tend to prefer to look for resort accommodation rather than building hotel. If they are not required to join business trip and have to stay in city central area.

Pattaya is the small lovely city on eastern region of Thailand. It is the small city that well known for tourists of its beautiful beaches and nightlife. There are also hotels and resort accommodations available in this city. However, according the most area of the city is urban area, so it is quite rare to see large resort accommodation available for tourists. However, if you are planning to visit this city, there are some beautiful resorts available for you but you may have to be hurry because they normally have full booking in high season.

Even though it si quite hard for you to find large resort accommodation in Pattaya, but there are some other hotels that have improve its environment to be a resort. One of the good examples is the hotel called Cabbages and Condoms Resort which I have visited last year.

I book this hotel through hotel booking website in very in quite cheap price and the hotel’s service is really impressive. For some of you who nay want to stay in city central area but would love to relax on private beach. There are some resort provides this for external guest too.

Booking for hotel in this city is also very easy. It is quite surprised that I can see many of travel agents in my country offering hotel booking service for this city. Even though it is just a small city in small country but the tourism market is very competitive. Therefore, many of hotel booking websites owners try to make a deal with local agents or directly to hotels or resorts to offer competitive prices available to customers.

In summary, it is quite necessary for you, if you are planning to visit Thailand and Pattaya you have to find out for information of hotel accommodation. If you are planning for business trip, so it might not be complicated because there are a lot of hotel in the city.

Learning to Sail in Thailand

Ever thought about Learning to Sail?

Bangkok’s nearest yacht sailing base is Ocean Marina Yacht Club, located some 15km down Sukhumvit Road from Pattaya, towards Sattahip. At Ocean Marina you’ll find a number of companies that offer an exhilarating and fun day out visiting the beautiful and untouched islands off the coast of Pattaya.

But if you’re the kind of person who longs to be a participant instead of a spectator, why not actually learn what it takes to move and drive a boat?

A word of warning: once you undertake the challenge of learning to sail, it may very well become an all-consuming passion that takes over your life.

So, where does one start? Usually there are two options:

1.You can learn to sail experimentally by simply going out to crew with the racing teams at the monthly racing events held at Ocean Marina.

2.You can enroll for a course or courses at a sailing school.

The sailing school option is the most popular, so let’s focus on this approach. It raises a number of questions and hopefully we’ll be able to answer a few of them.

How Do You Choose a Sailing School?

Whether you are starting from scratch or continuing your sail training, it is very important that you choose a school that meets your requirements. This choice is difficult for the new sailor as you will have little or no direct experience to base your decision on. Therefore, you should evaluate all of your options and ask questions of the schools you contact to ensure they can meet your needs.

Your prospective schools should be accredited by the International Sailing Federation, which has guidelines on setting up schools and the facilities they should have.

The Basics

Yachts – You should make sure that the yachts the school uses are appropriate and in good condition. Ensure that there are not too many people in the class, so that you will always have things to do rather than watching and waiting for your turn.

Instructors – You need to be sure that the instructors are qualified, having completed approved international training programs.

Courses – You must ensure that the courses are appropriate to your level and to the sailing level you wish to attain.

Certification – The certifications issued must be recognized in the geographical areas where you intend to use them. Ask about international accreditation – once you’ve passed will your certificates be accepted internationally?

Code of Ethics – Does the school have an ethical approach that will deal with you as an individual and help you attain your goals?

As far as training schemes go, there are two basic types of syllabuses used internationally now.

The first starts your teaching to sail on live-aboard type boats progressing from crewing to acquiring skipper skills.

The second, which I favor, teaches you how to sail on smaller yachts and covers all the basic elements of sailing including decision making. As your certification levels increase, so do the size of the yachts and the distances sailed.

This scheme was initiated in the USA & UK and is replacing the former in a number of areas.

The student-to-instructor ratio has of been concern to many of the sailing authorities, due to the rapid growth of commercial sail training. Obviously a yacht carrying six students makes more money than a yacht carrying three at the same or similar price.

Unfortunately, however, the students on the crowded yacht get only half as much instructor time as the others. In these days of furling headsails and other labor-saving devices, there is an optimum student capacity; exceeding this is not in the student’s interest.

Another concern of the sailing authorities is the very question of what certification actually achieves. Simply handing out certificates that denote course completion is in no one’s interest. Every student should NOT automatically be entitled to a certificate.

Only students who satisfy the examination components and are in the opinion of their instructor, competent and confident at their certified level, should be certified.

Sailing takes practice. For the training benefits to be maximized, all the skills you learn should be practiced over and over again. At all advanced levels of qualification, time with hands-on experience is required.

Public Transportation Overseas

When on vacation or traveling abroad you want to avoid dying in a flaming auto wreck. Some tips to help you avoid such a fate and more travel safety tips on public transportation overseas.

If a country has a pattern of tourists being targeted by criminals on public transport, that information is mentioned in the Country Specific Information in the section about crime.

Taxis. Only take taxis clearly identified with official markings. Beware of unmarked cabs.

Trains. Well-organized, systematic robbery of passengers on trains along popular tourists routes is a problem. It is more common at night and especially on overnight trains.

If you see your way being blocked by a stranger and another person is very close to you from behind, move away. This can happen in the corridor of the train or on the platform or station.

Do not accept food or drink from strangers. Criminals have been known to drug food or drink offered to passengers. Criminals may also spray sleeping gas in train compartments. Where possible, lock your compartment. If it cannot be locked securely, take turns sleeping in shifts with your traveling companions. If that is not possible, stay awake. If you must sleep unprotected, tie down your luggage and secure your valuables to the extent possible.

Do not be afraid to alert authorities if you feel threatened in any way. Extra police are often assigned to ride trains on routes where crime is a serious problem.

Buses. The same type of criminal activity found on trains can be found on public buses on popular tourist routes. For example, tourists have been drugged and robbed while sleeping on buses or in bus stations. In some countries, whole busloads of passengers have been held up and robbed by gangs of bandits.

Tuk-tuks. In Thailand, there are 3-wheeled vehicles called tuk-tuks mainly because of the sound they make. Most will hang around in tourist areas and offer to take you to massage parlors or for a “”free”" tour. They get a cut of anywhere they take you whether it be a jewelry store, bar, or massage parlor. Upcountry, they are mainly legitimate. The ones I am talking about are mainly in Bangkok.

Baht Bus. Not really a bus, but a pick-up truck with seats in the back. They are covered and are used primarily in Pattaya, Thailand. They drive a circuitous route and charge foreigners about 10 Baht and local Thaïs 5 Baht for a ride. If you flag them down and ask to go to a specific location, then you may have to pay more because you are basically hiring them to be a taxi. Easiest is to just wave them over, get to where you are going, ring the buzzer, hop off and pay. Be careful of pickpockets. They may be in the form of little kids with an adult nearby or transvestites preying on drunken foreigners.

If you encounter any problems with tuk-tuks or baht buses, contact the tourist police.

Using public transportation can be an easy and cheap way to get around. Just be as careful as you would back home.

Pattaya Ladies and What to Expect From Them

Pattaya is located on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Thailand approximately 150km from Bangkok and 125km Bangkok’s international airport. Travel time from the airport is one and a half hours. The road is good now that roadworks are nearly completed.

Pattaya was a small fishing village until US serviceman began arriving on R&R breaks from the Vietnam War via the nearby U-Tapao airport. With their arrival the bar scene that is present today began to develop.

Pattaya ladies come in all shapes and personalities. You are sure to find one (every night) to your liking.

Pattaya ladies go either long time (LT) or short time (ST.) This basically refers to the length of time that she goes with you for.

Typically ST is about one or two hours. It is more or less equivalent to what you would get from the working girls at home. In this time you can cum once or twice or maybe more if you are lucky. If you are in a ST bar they will have rooms available for this purpose. If elsewhere you will need to go back to your hotel with her or find a ST room at further expense to you.

Long time is typically over-night. Some ladies may leave as early as 7am (which is not good service) or mid-afternoon. Some are very difficult to get rid of at all!! Early afternoon is about the normal time if the lady you have taken is fair.

Some people like only ST and some only LT but most do both. Many guys will have a ST during the day and then take a LT that night. What you do is up to you.

A variation on the LT is the girl friend experience (GFE.) This is LT taken to the extreme. Where LT ends and GFE starts is open to debate. You’ll know when you are in a GFE when you are with her for 24 hours every day (or near to it) and she has a stash of clothes and other things in your room.

There is nothing wrong with GFE and it has benefits. However it has its dangers as you and/or her may become too attached. If you don’t want this implement the ‘3 day rule.’

Pattaya ladies usually come from a poor rural family with a sense of obligation to provide for their families. They come to Pattaya after hearing stories of ladies coming and making lots of money. They also have heard about how ladies come and meet a rich farang to look after them and their family. Most come with the idea of marrying a nice man to release them from their obligations that are placed on them by their family.

Unfortunately the reality of Pattaya is rather different. Perhaps they meet a man that they think is good. He promises her many great and grand things. He goes home with the promise of coming back to marry her but she never hears from him again. Perhaps she hears and sees similar things from the ladies that she is working with.

The result of this is that many ladies quickly take the view that farang men are theirs to take as much money from as possible. This will suit guys who only go to Pattaya for a couple of weeks. They can just go and have fun and not have to worry too much about attachments. However, this situation is full of traps for those who are unaware of the situation. Don’t be one of those guys!

There is no doubt some good ladies in Pattaya but being a newbie don’t go there looking for one. The sharks are just waiting for you and they are good at what they do.

Are You Looking for a Luxurious Beach Hotel & Resort in Pattaya?

Pattaya is well known for its nightlife and beaches and is located about 150 km southeast from Bangkok. By car you would have to spend about 1.5 hours as the motorways are very developed.  Starting as a fishing village, Pattaya has grown tremendously the last 40 years.  The hotel industry has flourished with lightening speed due to ever increasing number of tourists visiting Pattaya (about 5 million per year). Hence, it’s the most popular and profitable business of this region. For this purpose only, the right hotel with lots of offerings at low rates is very easy to find.  Pattaya has a lot to offer for anyone such as theme and amusement parks, golfing, ease of access to beaches, scuba diving, sailing, para-sailing, bungee jumping, go-karts, and a very vibrant nightlife.  Pattaya also has a wide variety of international cuisine as well as great sea food at the restaurants along the beach.  You can also find some great bargains on clothing in Pattaya.  Although not as extensive as Bangkok, it still has some great shopping venues.

The general factor for choosing a right resort at Pattaya would usually be the starting price. You can visit each hotel’s official site to see and check their offerings. You can also browse directories and travel sites by price, by class or even by top 10 lists. This can ease your work of finding the right accommodation partner when you visit Pattaya; little bit of searching can get you more than what you invest for the stay.

However, there are few points to be noted before choosing a hotel for your stay. Price should not be the only factor in choosing the right hotel. Other factors like location, services do matter in choosing the right hotel. If you want a cheap hotel yet want to see

the beach from the room, then it’s not difficult job to find one as there are lots of accommodations which offer cheap accommodations.

But, if you plan to stay in a luxurious hotel then you need to decide about the location, as you may be expecting high quality service for the money you spend.

If you have a fair budget and want all the luxuries of a hotel but also want to see the beach from the room of your hotel, then you might consider Siam Bayshore Resort & Spa located between “Walking Street” and Bali Hai pier. This hotel consists of 12-beautifully designed low-rise pavilions are set in acres of manicured tropical gardens and quiet lagoons.  You can definitely feel a sense of privacy from your hotel room.  Each room has a balcony overlooking the gardens, pool or ocean.  This resort also offers six tennis courts for the avid tennis player, fitness room, 20 acres of lush gardens, swimming pool, children’s pool, Jacuzzi, spa services such as Thai massage, full aromatherapy treatment and massage, facials and foot massage, full conference and high speed internet connection.  As the life in Pattaya can get a little hectic at times, many people prefer to stay in a serene and private resort located by the beach.  Daily tours and arrangements to enjoy beach activities are available and highly recommended if you plan your holiday in Pattaya.
